What about a scrot package for screenshots ? It depends on giblib which depends on imlib, freetype2 and libxext (all available on lowarch).
Haven't tested Lowarch floppy installation yet, I have a lot of work to do but I'll try this week end :)
WDM and Qingy have more functionality than XDM, but are still ligthweight.
I think that LXDE would be perfect for Lowarch.
In my experience it works pretty well even though some of the components are still beta quality.
It would be nice to see a lighttpd package (lightweight web server) - it is designed for small machines with limited resources.
